John Parr warming up

St. Elmo's Fire star John Parr rehearses before a show at the Village Hall

Rising star at Letwell

One of the most notable new voices in Britain, who was born and raised in Rotherham, heads for Letwell Village Hall on Saturday February 23rd after a busy few years touring with the likes of Van Morrison, Jack Savoretti and Tom Jones.

Lauren Housley was a national dance champion by the age of 10, but developed a passion for music as a teenager stemming from her dad's love of Elvis.

Lauren and her band have produced two albums since they burst on the scene in 2016. Both won critical acclaim from major figures on Radio 2 including Chris Evans, Bob Harris and Paul Sexton.

Lauren shares the stage with long-time writing partner Thomas Dibb, guitar and vocals, co producer Mark Lewis, bass and vocals, Xavier Winton, drums and Billy Bragg's trusty sideman C. J. Hillman, pedal steel guitar.

A fusion of Americana-style country, old school soul, pop and rock with a slight tinge of the blues, Lauren's music has a wide appeal influenced by many great musicians, including Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Bill Withers and Marvin Gaye.

A massive new talent destined for the big time!

Tickets, priced £12, are available from Martyn and Andy.
